Dr. Alex Atfield MD, CCFP

Dr. Alex Atfield practices family medicine at The Peterborough Clinic. He joined the Clinic in October 2021.

Prior to coming to the Clinic, Dr. Atfield was Director of the Emergency Department at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, the Founding Board Chair of the Madawaska Valley Family Health Team, and President of the Madawaska Valley Family Health Organization.

He continues his community involvement as a Board Member of the Peterborough Family Health Team. In addition to his work as a family physician, Dr. Atfield also works in Emergency Medicine at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre and is the President of the PRHC ED Associates.

Dr. Atfield is a member of the Ontario Medical Association; the Canadian Medical Association; and the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians.
